Here's how it works:
Contract Layout (Quote):
At the beginning of the process, the sales team creates a Contract Layout, which is similar to a quote in Business Central. Once the customer signs off on the Contract Layout, it is released, initiating the next steps in the process.
Contract Acceptance (Order):
Upon acceptance of the Contract Layout, it transitions into Contract Acceptance, becoming the working document for the team responsible for implementing the requested services. This phase streamlines communication and collaboration, ensuring that all parties are aligned on the scope of work.
Contract (Invoice):
As the Contract Acceptance progresses, items are released line by line into the Contract, which serves as the invoice machinery. This phase handles all aspects of invoicing, including different billing periods, changing items, one-time invoicing lines, and usage assignments. The billing engine automates the invoicing process, generating invoices for recurring charges and usage fees. Once posted, these invoices become part of Business Central's standard financial records.
Sales & Receivables and Finance:
Finally, the posted invoices flow seamlessly into the Sales & Receivables and Finance modules, where they are managed and tracked. This integration ensures that financial data is accurately recorded and easily accessible, providing insights into revenue generation and financial performance.
