CURABIS Retail Management 365 is a Point of Sale (POS) system built directly on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The solution unifies checkout, inventory, customer data, loyalty programme and e-commerce in one data model, so data does not need to be synchronised between POS, webshop and ERP. The frontend is built in React with an offline-first architecture and a local SQLite database, which ensures operation without an internet connection. The platform is the result of 25 years of development and is used across industries and chains.

A modern POS solution for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a checkout and store system that pulls items, prices, inventory and customer data directly from Business Central, without a separate middleware database. It is built on cloud architecture (SaaS), supports offline operation through local caching, integrates with payment terminals via standard protocols, and is updated in sync with Microsoft's biannual Business Central releases. CURABIS Retail 365 implements this architecture with a React frontend, SQLite offline cache and direct Business Central integration.

CURABIS Retail 365 uses an offline-first architecture, where the frontend app and a local SQLite database are installed on the POS device. At startup, the item catalogue, prices, customers and loyalty data are loaded into the local cache (for example 50,000 item numbers in under 200 ms). Transactions, payments, receipts and stock registration can continue without an internet connection, and the transactions are automatically synchronised to Business Central as soon as the connection is restored. This ensures continuous operation during network outages or pop-up store scenarios.

Intelligent Lookup is the item search and lookup engine in CURABIS Retail 365 that minimises compute time per transaction. It combines a performance-optimised cache strategy (item data is loaded into memory at startup) with three search modes: standard search (precise), split/AND search (complex descriptions) and fuzzy search (tolerant of typing and spelling errors). The result is response times under 200 ms even on catalogues of 50,000 or more item numbers, which eliminates waiting time at the checkout.

A monolithic POS is a closed system where all functionality is bundled into one codebase, and where customisations require changes to the core. A modular POS such as CURABIS Retail 365 keeps the core "frozen" and stable, while functionality (loyalty, gift cards, inventory count, bonus programmes, customer service) is added as standalone apps and extensions. This means that a chain can start with a small setup and expand as the need grows, without compromising the stability of the core system.

CURABIS Retail 365 integrates directly with payment terminals from the largest Nordic and European providers, including Nets, Verifone, Worldline and Adyen. The payment flow is handled through standardised protocols (for example OPI or Sale-to-POI), and terminals can be used across checkout lanes and mobile POS devices. The integration supports Dankort, contactless payments, MobilePay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and split payments and partial capture for split deliveries.

CURABIS Retail 365 has built-in support for loyalty cards, bonus programmes, gift cards and credit notes directly in Business Central, so earning, redemption and balance are handled in one data system. Customers can earn points in store, redeem them in the webshop, and balances are updated synchronously across channels through the shared data architecture. Loyalty rules, segments and campaigns are administered in Business Central and rolled out to every POS device without separate synchronisation.
