Implementation with our proven CURABIS Method

Digital transformation and constant change in the business landscape make companies more dependent than ever on flexible and effective solutions to stay competitive. A central part of this transformation is the move to modern ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365 Business Central. For many companies, that move is a demanding task that requires careful planning, resources and expertise.

From project to process

The move to Business Central is not just about technology.

It is about building a solution that works in everyday operations, for finance, inventory, sales and management.

That is why we work in a structured way from the start.

Not to make it heavy, but to make sure the right decisions are made at the right time.

We start from your reality.

Your data, your workflows and your way of running the business.

This gives a clear picture of where the standard covers, where adjustments are needed, and how you best move forward.

The result is a process where there is consistency between what is decided and what ends up being delivered.

Along the way, we create transparency in both options and consequences.

You know what creates value now, and what can wait.

This makes it easier to prioritise correctly and to keep momentum in the project.

And it produces a solution that does not just get implemented, but also gets used.

How CURABIS works
  • Clarification and workshop

  • We map your processes, data and most important business requirements, so decisions are made on an informed basis.

  • Testing with your own data

  • We use your real data to assess complexity, opportunities and risks early in the process.

  • Standard first

  • We use Business Central's standard functionality where it creates value, and only build on top where it makes sense.

  • Planned transition

  • We gather the result in a concrete roadmap with milestones, priorities and next steps.

  • Operation and ongoing development

  • Once the solution is in the cloud, the focus is on keeping it healthy, up to date and ready for Microsoft's ongoing releases.

Once you are in the cloud, the solution has to keep up

Business Central evolves continuously. The move to the cloud should therefore not be seen as just a project, but as the start of a more modern way of working with ERP.

With Keep Current, we help you keep your solution up to date, test your customisations and make sure new versions from Microsoft can be taken into use without unnecessary disruption to operations. This gives you a platform that can keep up with the business, also when needs, processes and technology change.

The path is concrete

Moving to the cloud is a structured process.

At CURABIS, we work with three core pillars that secure progress from the first clarification to a solution that is in operation and keeps evolving.

They connect, and they start from your situation, whether you are coming from NAV, starting fresh or already underway.

Get an assessment of the complexity of your upgrade

We have made it easy to get started.

In about 3 minutes, you can answer a series of questions about your current solution, workflows and ambitions. The questions are practical and grounded in the reality many companies face when considering the move from NAV to Business Central.

Your answers provide a unified picture of how complex your upgrade is, and what typically matters most during the process.

When you are finished, you receive a thorough briefing that shows:

  1. where you stand today

  2. which areas require attention

  3. and what the next step could look like

This gives you a solid starting point for making the right decisions, whether you are ready to begin now or simply want a better overview.

The path to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a structured process from an existing ERP solution (typically Dynamics NAV, Navision or another legacy system) to Business Central in Microsoft's cloud. The process consists of three core phases: a discovery workshop with process and data mapping, an upgrade or re-implementation to Business Central, and ongoing maintenance through Keep Current. CURABIS delivers all three phases as a unified process that preserves business logic, plans the transition and makes sure the solution keeps up with Microsoft's biannual releases.

Business Central SaaS is Microsoft's cloud version, where Microsoft runs the platform and rolls out two annual updates automatically. On-premise is the installed version, which the company operates on its own server, with full control over the update cycle, but also full responsibility for operations, security and backup. Hybrid combines a local Business Central installation with cloud services such as Power Platform, Microsoft 365 and AppSource apps. Microsoft's strategic direction is SaaS, and new features are prioritised for the cloud version first.

A full journey from Dynamics NAV to Business Central typically takes 4 to 12 months depending on complexity, customisations and organisational readiness. The process starts with a discovery workshop (2 to 4 weeks), followed by assessment and roadmap (2 to 4 weeks), implementation or upgrade (3 to 9 months), and ends with go-live, hypercare and transition to Keep Current maintenance. The timeline is agreed after the assessment, when the actual scope has been mapped.

Business Central SaaS (Software as a Service) is the cloud-based version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, hosted in Microsoft Azure and operated by Microsoft. The company pays per user per month (approximately 70 EUR for Essentials, 100 EUR for Premium), and updates roll out automatically twice a year. The SaaS model removes the need for own servers, manual backups and infrastructure maintenance, but it requires that customisations are written as extensions in AL and kept up to date through a service such as Keep Current.

The Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework is a framework from Microsoft that describes the phases a company moves through when transitioning to cloud-based solutions such as Business Central. The phases include Strategy (business goals), Plan (assessment and roadmap), Ready (environment and skills), Adopt (migration and implementation), Govern (operations and compliance) and Manage (maintenance). The CURABIS method covers these phases with concrete deliverables such as a discovery workshop, NAV upgrade, automated testing and Keep Current.

Business Central Essentials covers finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, projects and service, and costs approximately 70 EUR per user per month. Business Central Premium adds service management and manufacturing, and costs approximately 100 EUR per user per month. Both versions are delivered as SaaS and updated by Microsoft twice a year. The choice depends on whether the company needs full manufacturing functionality (Premium) or can manage with the standard modules (Essentials). The Team Members licence (approximately 8 EUR per user per month) is available as light read access.

A Business Central implementation typically consists of six phases: (1) a discovery workshop with process mapping in Q2C and P2P, (2) a gap-fit analysis and roadmap, (3) configuration of the solution in a sandbox environment, (4) data migration and code conversion (in the case of a NAV upgrade), (5) testing, UAT and user training, and (6) go-live with hypercare. After go-live, the solution moves to Keep Current maintenance with automated tests that validate every Microsoft release before production.

A complexity assessment is a structured analysis that measures how extensive a NAV to Business Central upgrade will be, based on the number of users, customisations, integrations, data volume, NAV version and organisational readiness. CURABIS offers a 3-minute online complexity test that provides a first indication of the scope of the upgrade and the areas that require attention. The result is used as the basis for the subsequent discovery workshop and the formal estimate.
